Aim: How do we solve proportions by using cross products?

Jhoanna Lora

The term cross product can help you to solve a proportion by multiplication the numerator from one ratio and multiplication the denominator from the other ratio. After you can find out what the missing term is and if they're both proportion to each other.

The error in this problem is:
2/3= X/12
2X=36 X=18
The error in this proportion is that they multiplied wrong when they should have multiplied 3 x=12 , you would have left 3x=24 then divide and the answer would have been x equal 8.

6/45 and 2/15
Decide weather each product are proportional:
90/90 They are proportional and they both share the same answer.
